Estonian Days in Prague.

 

On February 14-17 2018 there were held Estonian Days in Prague to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.

4-days program included many interesting events. 

14. February started with the lecture for HAMU students: "Development of the Estonian Music Theatre" (Iivi Zajedova). Short films by students of Tallinn University.

In the evening were held festive opening of the Estonian Days and exhibition at the HAMU Gallery.
Opening words by HAMU Vice-Dean Doc. Václav Janeček Ph.D., Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia Mr. Sten Schwede, Second Vice-President of the Riigikogu Hanno Pevkur, Managing Director of the Estonian Association of Cultural Societies Margit Reinkubjas, Chairwoman of the London Estonian Society Evelin Siilak.

Estonian folk dances are performed by students of the dance department of the HAMU Prague, students of the private conservatory Dance Centre Prague, and private high school and the leader of the LES folk dance group and London Estonian Folks founders Marje Remmet and Madis-Mikk Remmet.

The programme included Helmi Tohvelmann "Külvajad" (Music by Kapp), Mait Agu "Veelkord" (Music by Kukerpillid), Anna Raudkats "Tuljak" (Lyrics by Miina Härma).

Next day, on the 15th February, was hardcore workshop to HAMU dance departement girls. Dances were teached by Estonian Folks leaders Marje and Madis-Mikk. HAMU girls leaned alltogether 5 dances included "Mina tahan tantsu luua" (I want to dance), "Noianeitsi"(Witch virgin), as well as "Reilender", which was created by Marje Remmet herself. Girls enjoyed the dances very much.

On 16. February was held open workshop for everyone who wanted to try some Estonian folk steps. Workshop was ran by Marje Remmet.
